Build Lasting Relationships and Gain Valuable Experience
Intern Responsibilities and Requirements
A day in the life of a Museum intern varies from day to day, but a few things are certain. You will have fun and you will build relationships to last a lifetime. Dr. Deborah Cowman (pictured above) seeks to mentor her interns with zest and life. Her leadership was the most valuable aspect of this internship. You will help her with whatever she needs during the day-- be it doing her taxes or organizing a fundraising event that will raise $100,000. It honestly depends on the month and the upcoming events. Skills in Word, Publisher, Excel, and other Windows programs will be helpful, along with basic office equipment abilities. She is willing to delegate significant responsibility to interns, so be ready for some important tasks. This includes contact with Museum board members-- phone calls and serving food at board meetings, seeking sponsors for events, and taking notes and attending fundraising meetings. Most importantly, come equipped with a positive and cheerful attitude each day!
